Title

Fading History- Deployment art before and after

Subject

Showing the progression of the unit murals, trench art, and war graffiti over the years to get a sense of how the artwork fades away or gets painted over to be forgotten.

Description

Nearly all troop murals and war graffiti from the GOWT including OIF and OEF has been painted over or destroyed as bases closed and troops withdrew. However, in places like Camp Buehring the artwork has been left to the elements where the deployment art that signifies 'we were here' slowly fades away with time and memory.
